Reviva Labs : Light Skin Peel

I was just roaming around Healthy Options the other day coz i was supposed to purchase Avalon Organic's Vitamin C Cleansing Milk, but apparently, the Mall of Asia branch doesnt have stocks of it.

So i ended up getting the AO Vitamin C Moisturizer instead, while i was approaching the counter to pay for my moisturizer, something caught my eye

description from the Reviva Labs website :

"Peeling" is a European term for one of the most unique European items in the entire cosmetic field. THIS IS NOT A HARSH CHEMICAL PEEL. It doesn't "peel skin" as we know it, but gently lifts off more hardened, dried skin cells than can be achieved by scrubs or any other "exfoliating" product. Dead-cell accumulation prevents treatment products from penetrating and keeps skin tone from looking fresh and vibrant. For aging and problem skin, PEEL is absolutely vital; it offers multiple benefits, which one can see and feel with just one application. Used by Europe’s top Skin Treatment Specialists as a supplementary cleansing step in any skin care program. Any skin type, any age, can benefit from a once-a-week "Peel". Our Peel ingredients also stimulate the deeper new cells to move upward at a faster rate – causing the skin surface to look tighter, clearer and healthier.

the image on top is that of the fullsize package of the Reviva Labs Light Skin Peel, but whats available in our local Healthy Options store is the smaller one, which has 7grams of product in a teeny pot and sells for Php 240.00 ($6.00).

I have no idea if this works but the SA told me its one of their best sellers. People who have tried it returned to their store to buy more (upon hearing that, i grabbed 3 additional pots haha!)

its not the first time I mentioned this but i just wanna say it again, exfoliation pays an essential role in keeping the skin look naturally vibrant and fresh, it is not enough to wash the face daily to get rid of dead skin cells, so it is best to look for mild, non-abrasive exfoliants that help us get rid of dead skincells that makes the skin look dull.

This product came just in time since my Cure Natural Aqua Peeling Gel bottle is almost empty. I was contemplating if i would still repurchase and this saved me from shelling out Php 1700.00 ($40.00) for another fullsize bottle of Cure.

this teeny tub is for one time use only according to the SAs, but in my experience, i can actually use this for around 2-3x since (which would cost me Php 80.00 per application, not bad eh?) I just apply a thin layer of it.

This should be used once a week, leaving it for 3 to 5 minutes after application to let it dry, then scrub off gently with a dry (take note : dry, not wet) soft cloth.

If youre familiar with how eggwhite masks leave a thin film that makes the facial skin feel tighter, this has the same effect.

Im a bad girl, i fell asleep and left it on for around 2 hours on my face haha! but the result is still remarkable, after scrubbing the formula off my face, it left my skin soft and supple, after washing my face, it indeed felt fresh and rejuvenated.

Edited to add :

I figured this works better when you wipe it off after 30mins to an hour rather than leaving it for just 3 to 5 minutes.

Since its from Healthy Options, we're guaranteed that there are no harmful chemicals in this product, which i love, but i was actually skeptical and I was thinking this might cause me to breakout just like all the other organic products ive tried.  Ive actually tested this 2 days ago but decided to make a review just now because i was observing if I would develop allergic reactions or zits from it. Luckily, my skin stayed fresh and bump-free.

The texture is pretty much like St.Ives Apricot scrub except that the beads/scrubbers are made of organic stuff here, no harsh scrubbers. The scent is similar to that of Medicated St.Ives Scrub -- it bears this medicinal-herbal scent that my nostrils find tolerable.

Repurchase? Definitely, actually called the SA to have a fullsize tub reserved for me once they replenish stocks.

Have a peaceful and blessed weekend everyone!

  1. chel : in fairness maganda sya, just make sure ipatch test mo muna, pero hiyang ka naman sa organic products diba? siguro naman this wont cause you to breakout. :) okay sya, ayoko pa naman ng scrubs na masyadong grainy tapos matatalim yung grains. this one is perfect.

  2. Isa kang dakilang BI. Yun lang masasabi ko. Agree with Argie, di ko alam kung matutuwa ako sa pagbabalik mo (of course, tuwa ;D) kaso di ako natutuwa para sa wallet ko. :P

  3. pammy : nyahahah! :D at least nasa mid-range skincare lang ako nagiinvest, magulat ka pammy pag puro guerlain skincare yan (na hindi mangyayari everrr! :D) nyahaha!

  4. In fairness, gamit ko na skin care, puro from Healthy Options na not more than Php650 each and they work! Try mo Alba and Avalon Organics. They are L-O-V-E!

  5. Pammy : ako nga i can let go of La Mer moisturizers because of Soap and Glory stuff, expensive doesnt always guarantee best results talaga. I wanna try Alba and Avalon Organics stuff, i just dont like the Vit C moisturizer from Avalon, leaves my face oily, pwede siguro to as night moisturizer, but for daytime, i dont think so, oily talaga.

  6. Hi, I just came across a very, very similar product! I checked the ingrediants and they are quite similar. It costs less, around 70php for 10g, whereas Reviva Labs sells it for 240.00php for 7g! When I bought the other one, which is Go Naturals Skin Peel Purificator, it had the same exact effect that I got using this! Better alternative talaga. You can find it in Robinson's Department Store.

  7. @kimbwy : thanks for the info, i make sure to check that out soon. :)
