SWATCHFEST: LOOK Beauty Loud Lips

Everyone who knows me can attest that Im a real sucker for blushes.
I get really hyper whenever I see new ones in the market and there used to be times that Id end up hoarding all the shades (even the ones that doesnt look nice on me. LOL!).
Having so much makeup in my stash - even forgot about owning some of them, I felt really guilty thats why I had to take a break from online shopping and blogging for about a year, of course I also had to avoid GT (Female Network's GirlTalk forum) since I easily get tempted to try out new stuff other makeup junkies are raving about (inggitera lang? LOL)
Was able to purchase a few makeup items during my "break" but I made sure they were makeup kit staples like foundies and lipsticks (still hoarded some LOL). Since I started wearing makeup,  Ive always been a sucker for glosses -- from clear, tinted to sparkly ones and its just recently when I started to fall in love with lipsticks.

To this date, I think I own more lippies than blushes and today Im going to review and show you guys swatches of LOOK Beauty's Loud Lips Lippies.

SWATCHFEST: LOOK Beauty Double Hit Lip

Hooray for my second blog entry for this year, LOL!

Im super giddy to share my review for LOOK Beauty's Double Hit Lip since yesterday but my internet connection was really sucky so I decided to take a bit more time testing out the products before I give my final verdict. Just a short background for those who havent heard about LOOK Beauty Cosmetics yet -- just like TheBodyShop, LOOK Beauty is a drugstore brand in the UK and the quality is at par with some high-end brands Ive tried.

Today Im going to review Double Hit Lip. It says on the website that its "universally flattering and as tan enhancing as a white dress, these colour pop shades look amazing, whether gloriously glossy or not! All the trends covered - matte, glossy or combine the two."

Sounds Good, right?

Hang on and read more after the Jump!

Beauty Bargain: Sally Hansen Get In Shape Brow Shapers

I'm back! LOL!

Whats up everyone? :)

Was MIA for ages and I wanna be honest, I just wanted to cool down from something that happened to me online. One thing is for sure though, I dont wanna abandon this blog forever and I surely missed posting my random babbles about beauty stuff and everything under the sun.

For a while, I also "forgot" about online shopping (o yea! nagbago na ko LOL) but just recently, my (the coolest and ever so loving) Mom asked me if I know anyone selling stuff she can gift to our staff for Xmas, I showed her Meg's eBay account- jnlink777, and because of this, I felt the urge to browse Meg's stuff also and came across some really nice stuff that are (as always) cheap and of good quality. First to review is the Sally Hansen Get In Shape Brow Shaper Set.

Guess Whos Back ^_^

Its been a year and 2 months since I published my last blog entry and I surely missed doing this.

What I missed most though are the friends I gained thru GT and thru Blogging. Been really busy taking care of our "baby" -- Yobs (the boyf) and I started our own business together that I dint have time to write my thoughts on stuff and share them here. Sad.

But now I guess Ill be back for good and I hope you guys missed me somehow. LOL!

Hows everyone here na? :)

What Got Me Hooked..

Histories behind these tiny things got me interested and got me hooked in collecting them, back in May 2011, I started with this :

Barely had around 15 charms in my loot, I bought these not to keep them for a collection but to give them away as pasalubongs from my HongKong trip. They got lost in the storage though so I wasnt able to give them away to my friends. November 2011, I started browsing Facebook and came across selling pages for toys from Japan. And In barely a month, I was able to build my stash up to this :

Not much as I only had around 40 at this time, and this shot was taken mid-December.
To date, I was able to build my collection up to 421 to be exact.
and this is how 421 Hello Kitty Charms look like :

I remove the strings so theyd be less bulky to store. Theres still around 30-40 charms thats not included in the last photo though. Super lucky to have met friends on facebook who helped me get my hands on some Limited Edition ones. Not that Im trying to justify but these tiny things got my attention drawn away from buying makeup -- which I already have too much of and I guess it wouldnt be right if I stock up on more since Im rarely wear makeup lately.

A lot of people would usually collect plushies or the stuffed ones but I cant have those since Im sensitive to dust. So having these tiny babies is the best option, aside from theyre too adorbs to look at, they dont eat up much space in the storage too, and they dont gather dust as long as the container's covered. I love that these charms are more detailed too than the plush toys since they hold their shape better.

People are asking me, when would I stop collecting them? I prolly wouldnt. I plan to buy the books that tell the stories behind the designs of the charms and I plan to make trips to Japan just to help me complete the charms from the book. For the sake of those who doesnt have an idea, these charms are designed as symbols of the prefectures of Japan. Each popular thing on each destination gets represented by one charm design, and I plan to have them all. Kakaririn ko talaga to. LOL!

Anyone here who collects charms too? I can share with you where I buy these stuff. Way cheaper than buying them from Gift Gate. *winks*

Friday na ulit bukas! Whats your plan for the weekend?

FiNALLY! NYX Xtreme Lip Cream Swatches

Sorry ladies, wasnt able to update as promised.
After being super busy the past few weeks, I got sick and was bedridden. LOL! But heck, better late than never, right? :)

Back in December. Sol of Digital Traincase asked me to try Xtreme Lip Creams, theyre from NYX and they are fab. I love the ease of application, the opacity/coverage of the colors and the fresh colors that are both wearable and vibrant for everyday use.

Dont be fooled by the tiny packaging, the tube may have a little product inside but would surely last you a long time since you only need a swipe or two to have full opacity of color.

This product doesnt need a long intro. Its great and its worth having in your lippie stash. In fact, I want me the whole set coz even the nude colors look great on me. LOL

Building Up My Stash! ^_^

I find it funny that after taking a break from buying makeup, I found something else to splurge on. Well Im not really splurging on this "new"or should I say revived addiction since Im quite good at looking for cheapie deals for them, but Im just fascinated by how much my collection grew in a span of a week. LOL!

Back in May 2011, I blogged about Kawaii Gadget Swings/Danglers, and my mini collection of Hello Kitty/Sanrio cellphone swings was just around 15-20 back then

some time last week, I "met" a new friend on facebook, she collects charms as well and I learned that she frequents this blog din.
And because I got jealous (inggitera much? LOL!) with how much she had on their Sanrio Charm stash, I started searching ebay and facebook for sellers of Sanrio Charms and was able to build my stash to this :

from the time I took that picture to this date, I was able to score around 30 more charms to add to my humble sanrio charm stash.

Not that Im trying to justify this new addiction but I honestly think this is better than collecting plushies or bigger items that can add up to the clutter I already have too much of in my bedroom. ^_^

Price range for these charms by the way is Php 40.00 - Php 250.00 per piece.
Way cheaper by a few hundreds than buying directly from Gift Gate. :)

Whats Up, Everyone? :)

I took a little break from blogging to attend to personal responsibilities at home. ^_^
Im really sorry for the lack of updates, but now that Im back on track, I promise to
keep up with posting new entries on this blog hopefully one entry per day so I can catch up.

So, hows everyone?
I wanna thank everyone who emailed me asking me to come back to blogging -- I didnt quit ladies, I just took a little break, thanks for missing me! <3 smooches to you guyssss!

So today Im gonna share what Ive been buying lately. LOL!
Im not a fan of facebook and I decided to create an account just to check on the sellers who have been "stealing" photos from my page, and for some odd reason, online shopping found its way to enter the picture. Not gonna talk about makeup this time, and for the love of kawaii stuff, my hunger pangs for cute stuff was revived.

I love cute stuff and I love thrift shopping and when you put them together, Ill surely be doomed. Facebook shopping can be a bit tricky since Im used to shopping via eBay where you can check for sales feedbacks before purchasing, on facebook, its a different story, you have to be extra careful.

Oh! I wanna share pala my purchases from the most generous ebay seller ive transacted with. Im so happy with my purchases from her, it brought back memories of my childhood.
Aliw lang. hehe!

NYX Swatchfest IX : NYX Matte Lipsticks

The long wait is finally over, I received a lot of requests for NYX Matte Lipstick Swatches and Im sharing them with you now. ^_^

I love glossy stuff since most matte lip products Ive tried in the past made my lips dry after save for NYX Soft Matte LCs and NYX Matte Lipsticks.
Theyre not moisturizing but neither do they make my lips dry & chapped even after long hours of wear -- even without lipbalm as base.

Im ordering some for myself, and I hope you guys love the formula (and the fab shades) much as I do. :)

New Love : NYX Tango With Bronzing Stix

*stockphotos found in this blog entry courtesy of NYX website*

Im a big fan of gleamy-glowy-iridescent makeup, and I finally got my long-time lemming!
(Read my Lemming Post HERE)

I have some open/large pores in my cheek area and some on my T-Zone, but that doesnt hinder me from using shimmery makeup when everyone else would say that people with oily skin + open pores must use matte makeup to avoid emphasizing the size of the "manholes". LOL

I guess its just about choosing the right kind of product or should I say choosing products that dont give the discoball-ish kind of sheen since thats what you dont wanna have, right?
A hint of sheen on the apples of my cheeks, and on other key areas make my complexion look healthier, for some reason, it even makes my face look smoother and my overall look appear more polished.

Wasnt expecting much from NYX Tango with Bronzing Stix, I wanted them just for the sake of trying them out and for the special love for shimmer. I must say the product surpassed my expectations, I never thought something this cheap could be really nice that it can be comparable to the much more pricier products that I have.

Have to quit this blahblah and proceed to the review. ^_^

(just a random thought : im such a loser, ive had my lightbox for about 2 months now and I havent even bought lights for it yet. LOL!)

*Hop!*

New Lipstick + A Little Makeup BooBoo

After getting this shade of Milani Color Perfect Lipstick, I stopped wondering why this brand is gaining popularity in the makeup industry. The colors are indeed perfect and the quality is good, in fact one of the best compared to other drugstore/low-end brands in the market.

After having Wet N Wild reopen their counters in the Philippines, this brand is next on my wishlist, I hope this becomes locally available.

They said Rose Hip is a dupe of NARS Schiap, I cant actually remember if they shade-twins since the last time I had Schiap was about almost 2 years ago. All I can remember is that theyre both hotpink (LOL) but regarding the brightness and intensity of its hotpink-ness, I cant really compare, would have to get a pop of NARS Schiap soon to do a comparison. ^_^

So, here's the review.

Etude House Perfect Brow Kit

I started being so keen about my brows since Sophomore years in Highschool, and eversince I learned how to apply makeup, Ive been as keen on picking the perfect brow filler that doesnt make me look BlusangItim-ish (if you dont have any idea what Blusang Itim is, just imagine Charlie Chaplin's 'stache as your brows. Nuff said. LOL!)

Benefit BrowZings in Medium used to be my HG brow filler after realizing that The Face Shop's brow kit have strong olive tones and that one of the colors look more army green than brown. (did anyone else notice this?)  After reading beauty blogs and watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, I learned the significance of applying brow bone highlighters in emphasizing the arch of my brows and making it look cleaner so I used to bring around 2 tiny compacts (browzings + bourjois ombre stretch blanc) just for my brows. How inconvenient, right?

It was really refreshing when I came across one product that has contains 2 wearable shades (well at least for me) and one highlighter.
Its from Etude House and its called "Perfect Brow Kit"

Dolce & Gabbana The Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation

Its been a few months since I stopped buying blushes but started to have this thing for foundies, I still have a lot of foundies in my stash but lately, Ive been really curious about trying out more since I got fascinated by how great one could look as long as you got the perfect foundie that suits your skintone and skintype well.

I got my Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Finish Creamy Foundie a few days back, and I fell in love with it. I wanted to publish a review for it rightaway but decided to test it for a couple more days to see how it works on me.

To cut things short, here's my review. :)

Silica Gel Packets on Your Makeup Storage

Today, Im gonna share a little trick that I use to keep my makeup fresh and make their shelf life longer.

Humidity or moisture in the air makes an excellent environment for bacteria and mold growth, and because makeup looks clean doesnt mean its free from molds and unwanted microorganisms. Yeah, we cant really make them 100% free from bacteria, right? But we can at least make the environment less conducive for them to multiply.

Dont you just hate it when your CARGO blush pan (or any other makeup brand that comes in tin/metal packaging) starts to oxidize/develop rust? Or when that NARS compact starts to get sticky?

A Fairly Odd Post

Another impulse buy from eBay.ph. ^_^

I cant remember exactly when my penchant for tin lunchboxes started, Im guessing
its prolly because I want my stuff to have their own containers (the OC-ness strikes again) so I wont have to dig into mountains of clutter before I find anything.

I was browsing eBay the other day and I forgot how I came across a listing for a
Fairly Odd Parents Lunchbox. I decided to buy it for 2 reasons.

1. Honey loves watching the animated series.
2. The handle and the shape of the lunchbox itself is cute.

Its my first lunchbox thats of a different shape other than the traditional squarish or rectangle ones.

DiOR Pro Cheeks Ultra Radiant Blush

Sharing one of my favorite blushes of all time. :)

Im guilty of keeping some of my blushes past their expiry dates, thats the reason why
Im really mindful about cleanliness/hygiene whenever I use my makeup, so I wont
risk contaminating them, thus, prolonging their lifespan.

Whenever Im too lazy to think of which blush to use, clean, cool-toned pale pink ones would be my go-to cheek product. Dior Pro Cheeks in 835 Girlie Pink is by far, one of the best cool pink blushes Ive ever tried. I just love it to bits!

The Hand of Hope

When I started this blog, I promised myself not to post anything thats not makeup-related. Nothing personal. Nothing that involves anything that tackles the things that get through me. This is an exception and I hope you guys read on since its something that moved me. Something that I know, made me a better person. Ill try my best not to be boring, but I promise reading everything on this entry will be worth it.

Its not everyday that we come across something or someone that could make us realize the value of life, most of the time, once the road (aka. life) gets a little bumpy, we always end up sulking about life being unfair, that we dont deserve all those complications that life has to offer. For the past few months, a lot of things happened to me, which brought me to realize one thing- Life is way more than all those negativities we complain about, that each waking day is a gift, something we must be thankful for in every way no matter how "difficult" life is for us.

Let me share one of the things that brought me to wake up to that realization...

Som'n from Kanebo T'estimo : I dont know what its called, but I love it

You are prolly wondering why I couldnt think of a better title than that, right?
But I tell you thats the most appropriate title for this post.

I love bazaars and thrift shopping.
(I know I didnt have to say that, everyone loves shopping LOL!)
Clearance Sales and the like trigger the hoarder in me, to the point that I
always make unnecessary purchases.

Even stuff that Im clueless about, as long as I find it cute,
it would surely land in the shopping basket. That explains why it didnt matter
if I had no idea what was written on the label of the product Im gonna
review today, I just new I had to buy it right after I opened the compacts. ^_^

MiLANi Color Perfect Lipstick -- 16A Bing Cherry

Close this window
image courtesy of Milani Cosmetics website

Was supposed to do this tomorrow, but decided to share my review for the Milani Color Perfect Lippie in Bing Cherry now, like I mentioned on the last part of my previous post (Mango Mambo), I was a bit disappointed with this one since I relied too much on a swatch that I saw online which looks very far from the actual color of this lipstick.
(not blaming anyone, I know its my fault, was expecting too much ^_^)

MiLANi Color Perfect Lipstick -- 23 Mango Mambo

Im a late bloomer when we talk about lipsticks, I used to wear lipsticks only during occasions that Im required to wear one, but if not, I would always reach for glosses.

I used to think wearing lipsticks make me look older, but then again I realized its
all about choosing the right color that suits you. Colors that go well with your skintone
and colors that complement your undertone.

After the hotpink to pale pink lipstick trend, there came the hype for orange lipsticks,
and I always thought orange can never be something that I can pull off but I was wrong, from all the orange lipsticks Ive tried and never looked nice on me,
I was able to score one orange lippie that went really well with my skintone and my undertone. It's Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in 23 Mango Mambo.
