SWATCHFEST: LOOK Beauty Loud Lips

Everyone who knows me can attest that Im a real sucker for blushes.

I get really hyper whenever I see new ones in the market and there used to be times that Id end up hoarding all the shades (even the ones that doesnt look nice on me. LOL!).

Having so much makeup in my stash - even forgot about owning some of them, I felt really guilty thats why I had to take a break from online shopping and blogging for about a year, of course I also had to avoid GT (Female Network's GirlTalk forum) since I easily get tempted to try out new stuff other makeup junkies are raving about (inggitera lang? LOL). 

Was able to purchase a few makeup items during my "break" but I made sure they were makeup kit staples like foundies and lipsticks (still hoarded some LOL). Since I started wearing makeup,  Ive always been a sucker for glosses -- from clear, tinted to sparkly ones and its just recently when I started to fall in love with lipsticks. 

To this date, I think I own more lippies than blushes and today Im going to review and show you guys swatches of LOOK Beauty's Loud Lips Lippies. 

SWATCHFEST: LOOK Beauty Double Hit Lip

Hooray for my second blog entry for this year, LOL! 

Im super giddy to share my review for LOOK Beauty's Double Hit Lip since yesterday but my internet connection was really sucky so I decided to take a bit more time testing out the products before I give my final verdict. Just a short background for those who havent heard about LOOK Beauty Cosmetics yet -- just like TheBodyShop, LOOK Beauty is a drugstore brand in the UK and the quality is at par with some high-end brands Ive tried. 

Today Im going to review Double Hit Lip. It says on the website that its "universally flattering and as tan enhancing as a white dress, these colour pop shades look amazing, whether gloriously glossy or not! All the trends covered - matte, glossy or combine the two."

Sounds Good, right?

MiLANi Color Perfect Lipstick -- 16A Bing Cherry

Was supposed to do this tomorrow, but decided to share my review for the Milani Color Perfect Lippie in Bing Cherry now, like I mentioned on the last part of my previous post (Mango Mambo), I was a bit disappointed with this one since I relied too much on a swatch that I saw online which looks very far from the actual color of this lipstick. 
(not blaming anyone, I know its my fault, was expecting too much ^_^)

MiLANi Color Perfect Lipstick -- 23 Mango Mambo

Im a late bloomer when we talk about lipsticks, I used to wear lipsticks only during occasions that Im required to wear one, but if not, I would always reach for glosses. 

I used to think wearing lipsticks make me look older, but then again I realized its 

all about choosing the right color that suits you. Colors that go well with your skintone

and colors that complement your undertone. 

After the hotpink to pale pink lipstick trend, there came the hype for orange lipsticks, 

and I always thought orange can never be something that I can pull off but I was wrong, from all the orange lipsticks Ive tried and never looked nice on me, 

I was able to score one orange lippie that went really well with my skintone and my undertone. It's Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in 23 Mango Mambo. 

Swatchfest VII : NYX Slim Lip Pencils

 I just figured that a good lipliner can work better than using Lipstick Primers in making the lippie stay put and to avoid feathering lip color especially for highly pigmented lipsticks,

Sorry Ladies if I took a long break from swatching, the weather was uncooperative thats why I wasnt able to do my swatches last week, it was so dark outside and I cant really capture the real color of the lippies.

Im feeling so lazy today and got nothing to do so I decided to review something in my stash. 

This palette was given to me as pasalubong from Dad's trip to Malaysia last year. 

I was surprised to see that he has good taste in choosing which colors would look good on me haha! :D

Korres Mango Butter Lipstick

A little review for the lipcolor ive decided to wear today.. 

 a little description from Amazon.com,

Im loving Korres cosmetics thats why I got this lippie, I got it in one shade only since i wanna try it out first, the shade is called Rose Naturel (13 Natural Rose). 

I was actually expecting a cleaner pink (like baby pink) as shown on this color swatch from Amazon

Im no expert when it comes to lipsticks, since its just recently that ive decided to get out of my comfort zone and try out lipsticks, I always thought lipsticks are always opaque, that none of them are sheer like how I want my tinted balms/glosses to be.

But I would say, dont let the lippie color from the tube fool you, some really look ugly on the stick, but gorgeous when applied.

Since i was expecting a cleaner pink, i was a bit disappointed to see that it doesnt look close to baby pink at all. But it sure does look a bit like my S&G sexy MotherPucker Lip Shaping Crayon 

Korres' Mango Butter Lipstick in 13 Rose Naturel bears a Soft Rose tone as seen on the picture below. 

When swatched, it looks rosy indeed. But i thought it was too reddish for my liking.. 

Until I tried the product on my lips.. :)) 

*sorry for the messy application, also wasnt able to exfoliate my lips before applying the lippie* 

It looks natural, it moisturizes my lips, it has a tolerable vanilla-ish scent that reminds me of MAC lippies. You would have to reapply prolly every 2 hours or so since its a sheer lippie that doesnt leave a stain on the lips.

What I dont like : Its not available locally. 

Overall, I love this lippie, would probably try out the other shades that they have. (^_^)

Its Bright Red and I Love It!

Its not the first time I'd mention this, but I rarely wear lipsticks, im a fan of lipglosses and I dont like pigmented glosses, since im a fan of sheer lip stuff, those that offer hints of color but doesnt wash out the color of my lips by covering it. This lippie im going to review now is an exception, its opaque, its bright, and its super pigmented. And for a change from all the pinky shades of lippies I have, this one is Red, bright bright Red. 

This came just as a freebie, and now im dying to get 2 more tubes of this shade but im unfortunate to see any being sold in ebay.ph lately. :( Im halfway thru finishing this pop already. 

Id pick this over MAC Russian Red which is the 2nd best Red Lipstick in my opinion. 

I love how this lippie keeps my lips moist, offers good pigmentation and for the first time, its one bright, pigmented lipstick that mom said, looks really good on me. 

The shade is called Romance, and this lippie is from Styli-Style, this brand is available locally in Beauty Bar but im not really sure if they carry this line of lippies. I wish they do, so I can get a pop or 2 more.

the color is really beautiful, right? 

However, just like in any pigmented lipstick out there, you would need to apply a good lipliner that's anti-feathering so you wouldnt end up looking like a clown once the color bleeds beyond the natural lip line.

Sharing my Guerlain Haul from the Big Outlet Sale at the Megatent. :) 

Went there last Saturday (April 16) 

Disappointed coz they dont have Meteorites and Meteorites Primer.. :( 

Happy with my purchases though. :P

I just wish I went there during the first day as planned. I prolly had more shades of lippies to choose from.. :(

A HotPink Lippie That Will Never Be Too Loud

I got this for mom, but was so giddy with excitement that the moment I opened the lippie tube, I wanted to try it first to see if it would pass my Mom's taste for lippies (okay, thats just an excuse,  ahaha! I just wanted to see how this lippie looks like haha!)

This lippie is from T. Le Clerc and its from the Paradise Lipstick Line 

and this lippie I got is shade 02 Rose Transparent,

skeptical at first, i thought it would look like NARS Schiap or any other hotpink lippie I bought (on impulse) before but never really had the chance to wear since i find the hotpink color too bright for my liking. And besides, I rarely wear lipsticks, i usually wear gloss or tinted glosses or lip tints. I wasnt really a fan of the non-sheerness (if theres such word) of most lipsticks. 

On the tube, the color is more like a muted hotpink thats not as bright as NARS Schiap (which is the most fluorescent hotpink lippie ive ever seen thats why im using it as basis of comparison). 

has a hint of sheen to it and smells like MAC lipglass, mild vanilla-ish scent thats not overpowering at all. 

(okay, i have this habit of sniffing my makeups before trying them haha!)

and dont you just love the sheen and the pop of color it gives? vibrant, fresh, but not too loud right? 

This lippie is GOOOOOD! Worn it since this afternoon and it sure did moisturize my lips as well (NOTE : didnt put lipbalm underneath the lippie)

I like how it complements my skintone well 

(well I dunno if you guys would agree, thats what I think, just saying it out loud haha!)

This one's definitely a keeper, and I think id be buying myself a pop of this shade, and prolly backups as well coz its really really really nice.

HG Alert!!! Phantom Lipstick

  

I've tried several brands but was never a fan of intuitive cosmetics or cosmetics that react to your body chemistry to give your that "customized" pop of color. 

But today, I think I found my match, from the time I opened its tube, to swiping it in my forearm, to seeing how it yields to the prettiest pink an intuitive product can ever give, I was totally in love. 

And mind you, this isnt a lippie from an expensive brand, its quite impressive that something this beautiful is from a French drugstore brand -- Topicrem that has no history of producing highly-raved cosmetics in the past. 


I googled about this product but wasnt lucky to find any stockphoto or any review about it, only to find out that this hasnt been released in the market yet. Haha!

Its from the Glamour Care line of Topicrem, and the product is called "Phantom Lipstick" coz it claims to appear in contact with the lips' pH. 

The packaging is quite similar to that of Chanel Cosmetics, except that this fine gold shimmer : 

After opening the Lippie Tube, i was surprised to see this : 

A translucent bright pink pop, with teeny silver shimmer suspended in it. 
Im such a sucker for dolly pink, barbie-ish cosmetics, so imagine how happy I was to see that it doesnt look like any other pink lippie in the market.. :) 




When swatched, it initially looks like this : 

theres just a sheer bite of pink tone and shimmer :) 

but after a few seconds

..

..

it becomes the most lovely, pretty, beautiful, gorgeous pink intuitive makeup can ever give!! I almost forgot, i also love that its unscented, and it doesnt have any weird taste/flavor. 

This is far better than Smashbox O-Glow (sorry Smashbox, this product just won me over) 

This lippie is love!

and its Paraben-Free!

Though I wasnt able to see reviews about Topicrem beauty products, I do not doubt the quality of this product as this also comes from where they make Chanel, Guerlain and Chantecaille cosmetics 

(i wanna work there as well! so ill always get in early for CCO sales!!! :)). 

There are several products included in the little box I got today, but got really excited after trying this, im sorry i wasnt able to take a pic of the rest of my stash. Was really giddy to rave about this lippie right away.. 

Nothing to hate about this lippie, except for the fact that its not available in the market yet, but im pretty sure 3 pops would last me long though.

- the price : i got them for Php 70.00 each
(i even got Romance as a freebie from my last haul)

*** i just hope Meg stocks up on new shades of these babies so i can grab more for Mom and myself. :)


asking why they come cheap when Beauty Bar sells them for no lower than Php 500.00 each?


its because Styli Style is upgrading their packaging.. :)


Ebay sellers like Meg (jnlink777) get these items from clearance sales in the States and sell them dirt cheap here in the PI..
